Getting Fit

Undeniably, I've been gaining weight again. I'm blaming this to the oral contraceptive pill that I am using right now. Though it has already been foretold that using my contraceptive pill can cause water retention, I'd still use it rather than having unplanned pregnancy. Since we can't afford to got to the gym (time wise), I think that playing ping pong is a great way to lose weight. I think I still have a ping pong table at my folks's place though I ma not sure if it is still in good condition. Nevertheless, it won't harm if I would go out and canvass prices of ping pong tables.

On Being a Back Up Photographer

I never really knew that I'll be into photography until I had Terrence. I was not really fond of taking pictures nor do I want family and friends to take pictures of me. During our wedding, I was a "stiff subject". I didn't really know how to be relaxed in front of the camera. But when I had Terrence and realized how costly it would be to have his monthly pictures taken in a photo studio, that's the time I opened my doors into photography. Two months after getting my first DLSR, I immediately enrolled myself in a photography workshop. The rest, as they say, is history. I was unfortunate that I got a few friends who marked the most important events in their lives and I was a part of it. Let me share you some pictures I took (heck, it was just 3 events!)

I now know how stupid I am for not knowing that taking pictures can be so much fun too! Well actually, hubby is now enrolled in an advanced photography workshop. I really want to attend the same workshop with him but we are still nanny-less as of now so I wdn't have anybody to leave TJ to.

On Insurance Quotes

Up until this time, my father still hasn't choose anything from the various insurance quotes that he has at home. Our SUV is already up for insurance renewal. We're just lucky that in 5 years time, the SUV hasn't met any accidents yet. But I still think that having a car insurance is a must for sense of security.

On Auto Accessories

Aside from the pulse oximeter that we are currently looking for at ebay, we are also looking for truck accessories for the truck that my father-in-law owns in their fish brokerage business. Although the vehicle is being used for business purposes, my father in law still wants to "beautify" the vehicle to make it more appealing. I know little about car accessories so I'm just going to leave the ordering to hubby.

A Medical Question

Last week, my brother asked me if pulse oximeter in the US is cheap compared to the ones being sold here. As I am medical term knowledge, I searched google for this medical device. As per wikipedia, a pulse oximeter is a medical device that indirectly measures the oxygen saturation of a patient's blood (as opposed to measuring oxygen saturation directly through a blood sample) and changes in blood volume in the skin, producing a photoplethysmograph. It is often attached to a medical monitor so staff can see a patient's oxygenation at all times.I asked hubby about this stuff but he was uncertain. We want to help my brother's co-worker so we are now checking ebay for that.

Shoe Love

In my previous post, I mentioned that I have 12 working shoes. I have such many simply because I am not particular about brand tags as long as the shoes is stylish and fits my feet comfortably. How I wish I can have one of those Nanette Lepore shoes but I don't think they are available locally.

Red Juice?

Have you tried drinking Red Juice? It's the juice drink being endorsed by youhtful beauty icon Cory Quirino. When I inquired about it's price in Mercury drug, I find it too steep. One of my cousins explained to me that the reason why it is too costly is because it serves as colon cleansing agents. I think it's a good health investment so never mind the cost.

Tretinoin

As I clean up the cabinet our former nanny used before, I found empty bottles of facial cream treatment that contains tretinion. Curiosity hit me so I searched the net about tretinoin reviews. As per Wikipedia, tretinion is the acid form of Vitamin A. It is most commonly used as a form of acne treatment. I am not sure how tretinoin really works but I noticed the reddish-y skin of our former nanny when she was using it. So I dared not to use any facial products that contains tretinoin. But I guess now that I have an idea on what it is all about, I'll have to consult a dermatologist for proper recommendation.

Budget Diet

I think I need to have some sort of "budget diet." I have studied our monthly cash inflow vs. cash outflow and the result just astonished me. I really need a home budget software for better finance management. Though we still could afford some 'wants', I am sure that we can save some more if I'll do better on budget management. I have to reduce my shoes spending. Though I don't really buy expensive shoes, I think that having 12 pairs of shoes just work work alone is too much. May God help me.

Gym Plans

For months, hubby and I are planning to hit the gym to get ourselves back to shape again. It has been our plan since he got back last November but we keep on postponing it due to some inevitable reasons. Perhaps, we are going to have it materialized sometime May- that is after he completed his advanced photography class. For now, I have to resort to diet supplements to control my weight gain.

On Infomercials

For the past few days, I've been hooked to home TV shopping network. It's not that it's only now that I got to see this TV channel. It's just that the products being sold in this network are quite funny and outrageous. One of the products being showcased is a quick acne scar removal treatment. I doubt if this product really works as it promised to remove even those scars which have been on the face of a model since she was 13. But there's one product that caught my attention. The stretch marks remover. :d

One Kilo

Yes, 1 kilo. From 46 kg, I am now up to 47 kgs. I am not sure how exactly it happened. For all I know, I've been reducing my rice intakes for the past few weeks but I guess, my frequent "snacks" contemplates my reduction of rice intakes. I have to discipline myself even more. Reading weight loss success stories inspires me too. It's summer time already and even though I can no longer have the body I used to have, I want to have a decent body I can display on the beaches.

Being an Event Planner

In my opinion, being a party planner is perhaps one of the most exciting one could ever have. I like kiddie parties. I like debuts. I like baptism. Most especially, I like weddings. But don't ask me aboutfuneral planning. Actually being in a funeral rites gives me a fright. I really don't like seeing bodies of dead people. In fact, I don't like being dragged into any funeral activities. It just gives me creep. I want to do anything about events, but please...no funeral planning.

On Console Games

Hubby is still waiting for the ps3 unit he sent (through his aunt) by sea cargo about a month ago. He actually has one PS3 unit here in the apartment but he's actually giving it away to my sister-in-law. I am not really a fan of console games. I feel so out dated that the last time I touched a video game was when Sega system was still the in thing. But just because hubby got no other playmates, I got no other choice but to learn how to play PS3 and so far? I am loving it! It is a great bonding moment for us :)

On Auto Insurance

Even though hubby is away from US, his bank account is still being charged with some amount for his auto insurance. The amount is really not that much but when u get to compute it for 10 months, it is actually quite hefty. With that, he is thinking whether he should just sell his car and get a new one when he gets there sometime next month. I actually tried to discouraged him thinking of the inconvenience of being car-less when he gets there but it seems that he is already dead set on selling his car.
