Getting Rid of The Problem

My sister-in-law just had a facial treatment with her dermatologist (and wedding-godparent) last week end. She asked me if I know any herbal acne treatment products that are being sold in drugstores like Watson’s. Ithas been her constant battle for the past 26 years. Hubby gave her a gel as acne treatment when he wont home last year. Unfortunately, that acne treatment is being sold only in the US. I don’t have acne problems, really. But I am concerned of the dead skins that I can’t get rid right now as people advised me not to take any facial treatment while I am pregnant.

"BOSS"

One of my former boss (Canadian) is in town. He needs to supervise the over-all quality operations of a huge campaign in T’s Philippine call center. It’s too bad though that he is no longer my immediate boss so I no longer spend much time to bond with him anymore. One of my formers QAS’s who is now a team leader as well shared to me that "JB" just lost more than P20,000 last week at Casino Filipino in Heritage. He is now looking for a golf course. I know that whenever he visits the country, he’ll make it a point to bring with him is Callaway golf clubs. On the other hand- In the next two weeks, it’s my current boss who is based in Seattle, Washington who is going to be in town. We already set a team building and we are planning to tag her along and see how crazy her Manila team is. Everybody is anxious and at the same time is excited over her coming. We do have some celebrants (birthdays and those who have just been promoted) who will treat us on the same day that we are going to have a team building. I’m sure everybody will have fun with that R&R activity. :)

NIP/TUCK

Tell me what you don't like about yourself...?
Beauty is a curse on the world.

I got addicted to these lines as I followed the NIP/TUCK series. I am not really into medical-related drama but this series just got me hooked. It’s all about plastic surgeons and how they change lives though changing the things that people want to enhance on themselves. I would also want to get give credit to Julian Mcmahon who exudes sexiness. I just love the butt exposures! LOL I just finished its 3rd season and I am now looking forward of seeing the 4th season. This medical drama series is a big break for me from watching these crime-related TV series. :)

Hangin

Have you ever come to a point when you stopped thinking about a person's welfare?
That's how I am feeling right now. Wala na kong amor sa taong ito. He can do what ever shit he wants in his darn life. Even his friends are beginning to be tired of his deadma attitude.
I know you are reading this blog so let me say this to you- I no longer care what ever shit you have in life. All I want is for you to be professional when you are at work. I just need you to be focus so that you won't produce mediocre output. I need you to be focused so that I will no longer be put in the hot seat when ever our clients would see errors. You are a nice person but your behavior towards work is not that superb right now. I, we, your friends no longer care if you don't want to share us a part of your life. We're just tired of making you feel important and making you realize that we are your good friends. We just hope that what you have right now will be forever. Because by the time comes that "it" fades away, you can no longer count on us. Ikaw ang unang nag iwan sa ere. With that, isa ka na lang hangin sa amin ngaun.
Period.
Now, I gotta get back to work.

Good News, Bad News

I haven't updated this blog for a while aside from my online assignments. Things are getting pretty tough at work this month. Our client, "Q" is going to visit us in two weeks. We're gonna have a re-validation, some sort of re-certification which is something I am not really worried about.
Two of my people have just been promoted. There is nothing more rewarding that seeing the people you have nurtured to climb up the corporate ladder. I am a bit sad though because the line of business I am handling right now is really struggling, and I need more manpower to finish the target. It's not just my line of business though. It's across the board. I guess I am not just used to this situation as my team has been performing ALWAYS on top. The situation I am right now is really something new to me. And since people are moving, my head aches of thinking as to who are going to replace them.
We're set to have a team building second week of this month. Instead of going out-of-town, we're just goona book a 2-bedroom suite in Astoria where we could eat, drink, sing and play bingo. This is really a much need break.

Limo? Harleys? Pick your choice

During our wedding preparation stage, one of the least things I have considered is the bridal car. I am not really that fascinated over bridal cars so I didn’t care that much. While browsing some wedding websites locally and internationally, I can’t help but be fascinated with those few people who dared not to use the traditional limo or other luxury cars as their bridal cars. I am in fact, fond of those couples who used a vespa or used Harleys because it looks like so unique. With the level of air pollution in our country though, using Harleys is not a godo idea though. In the end, we just used my in-laws' car as our bridal car. It's free anyway!

"Lupin"

We got quite a number of plasma TVs and other entertainment gadgets installed all over the office building. This is to prevent the employees from the feeling of being burnt out. However, a month ago we were astonished with the fact that somebody stole the DVD player in one of our entertainment rooms. Very Squatter naman! It was such an awful news because I used to remember that when we were just a small company, I could just leave my wallet and cell phone in my desk and nobody would dare to take it. Now I fear that what happened to my former employer where computer memory got stolen will soon happen with my beloved company. It is such a bummer! The IT department should start putting locks in our computers.

IT- aytihan

Darn our IT department! Amidst my busy schedule, my team experienced system latency. Worst, a couple of AVAYA phones in my team are malfunctioning. I had to issue a service help desk ticket so that somebody from our IT department could come down our floor (Quality is at 4th floor, operations and IT on the 5th floor). After 5 minutes, I received a call from one of the IT helpdesk associate. I thought that she is going to come over to fix the phone but lo and behold! She took 30 minutes of my coaching session time as she was giving me instructions on how to troubleshoot the malfunctioning Avaya phone. ‘Nyeta! It made me feel like I am a technical support again. I could even sense that she is just asking instructions from a fellow associate. Sh*T! How incompetent that b*tch is! Sorry nman po..I just had to vent out. Some projects were delayed because of this darn shit.

Looking for a Replacement

On the bright and shiny day of December 3, 2005, I hurried from Eastwood City (where I used to work) to get to Cavite as early as 6am. It was my boyfriend's (turned husband)birthday. It was a good thing that I have a 9pm-5 am(7 hours work-1hr lunch break) work schedule so I managed to come home that early. I was just commuting. With me was a little blueberry cheesecake and a gift. It was such a pleasant picture in my eyes when I saw hubby's excitement over what I gave him. He received an iPOD nano from me. I got a pretty good deal from tipidpc.com where one could have various options for MP3 players. I got the iPOD brand new, sealerd in its box. I got it for less than 3 thousand from the original price. Seller is from Australia and he wants to upgrade his iPOD nano 2GB into 4GB. So there...

Unfortunately, this iPOD nano is no longer working now. This is after some itune update that hubby made. It has not been replaced yet. But I am looking in ebay now. LOL

Having Fun While Working

I’ve been working with "Q", a telecoms company in MidWest US. So far, I couldn’t be happier with the people I am working half across the globe. They are just awesome people. They even make sure that their team here in Manila are enjoying their work. We have a monthly team and individual contests and these are something we always look forward too. One of the things we would wait for is the employee of the month where winner gets engraved plaques. This contest of course, excludes supervisors and managers.

Surveys! Surveys!

I have seen these questions from my yahoo support group. Just like Kathy, instead of answering this in the group, I'll just post my answere here. I just started living in an apartment about 4 months ago.

How many sq. meters is your place, and how many people live there?
Around 60 sq. meter lang. I have one colleague in teh office that is living in the 2-bedroom apartment I am renting. We are paying a monthly rental fee of P8,000.

How much is your electricity bill monthly? Water?
I guess one of the ultimate factor that could determine the amount of your electricity consumption depends on how strong your AC is and how long your appliances are working. I have a 1.0 HP in my room that is running for at 10 hours. 8am-6pm. During the time that I don't have my AC microwave and other appliances yet, our electricity is only P400. Now, it has zoomed to P1,800. My co-worker only pays P200, I am paying for the rest.

Water- Drinking water is around P120 a week.

Other utilities?

LPG- P635 a monthHealth Supplements - vitamins and calcibone...siguro around P1,200 a month.

Rice - around 1,000 a month. mag isa lang naman ako eh.

Household help-wala pa eh..but when the yaya comes when baby T arrives, we'll get budget will be P2,500.

Fuel/Gas-I don't drive a car as my apartment is just a stone away from the office. Commuting from house to office is jus P15 (FX) and coming to hoem from the office is just P60/day. I leave the office kasi at around 4:30 am so wala pang FX nun.

Phone Bill-No landline in the apartment.

Internet-DSL- No internet access in the apartment. Office lang . LOL

Cable- No cable connection. Rather, I would always allot a budget of P200 per week for my DVD (lahat TV series)

Mobile Phone bills-P300. I don't send SMS, MMS and do outgoing calls that much. I have the office phone. LOLGroceries- Di naman ako mashado sa groceries. I would just buy Milo, yakult, some fruits, instant yakisoba and break for the entire week. Busog na ko nun. I would always take my lunch/dinner either sa fastfood or sa office pantry. Daily budget of P100 goes for this.

Life Is Too Short

Today is Monday and I was hoping for a good week ahead of me. However, as soon as I sat down on my workstation, my good friend James told me that a colleague from the QA department passed away. Her death was morbid. Really. She was found dead in her 2-storey house in Antipolo. Naagnas na. She was shot in the head. It turned out that she's been dead since last Wednesday. Her lifeless body was found only on Friday. Her team lead was trying to call her as early as Thursday but she didn't answer her phone.
According to unconfirmed news, the perpetrator was her husband. It turned out, a few weeks before her gruesome death she was venting out about domestic violence she has been experiencing from her husband. When police searched the house, magulo daw ang room. Parang may hinahanap. The couple has dogs. But the dogs didn't bark during the estimated time of death. There were even no signs of forced entry. A distant relative of the deceased confirmed that they saw the husband leaving the place on the day of her death. He has not been seen until Saturday. I was also told that the husband has asked our facilities manager if he can get "H"'s things. Such thing could wait until "H"'s burial rites is over. Of course, all of these things are just speculations. These could not stand in the court of law as all of these are nothing but circumstantial.
"H" is only 33 years old. She has been married for 8 years. It was a blessing in disguise though that they didn't have a kid. It's gonna be painful, otherwise. She's pretty. In fact, during her early teenage years, she was a part of the now-defunct That's Entertainment. Though her character is something one can consider as "professionally awkward" she still does not deserve such kind of death. I guess, nobody does.
I still can't believe that "H" is gone. Life indeed is too short.
May she rest in peace.
Edited:
3:57 am. Few from the QA team paid their visit to "H"'s wake. I was informed that she has a close casket. According to them, the lady was killed in execution style. Pinaluhod and may nakasalang daw na unan sa ulo. Perhaps, so not to make any noise. There were some brain matter in the area.... morbid.

Streetlights Off

It's 4:23 am now... and I am still in the office. While me and my team were having a nice conversation about a socially awkward person (sorry naman for the term--- pero truily, nakakairita na sya) from another team, we just noticed that the streetlights on C-5 avenue and the street going from Libis to Pasig have been turned off. Geeezzz!!! This reminds me of Milenyo way back 2006, when EDSA looked like a ghost town. Thanks to the lamp posts of Tiendesitas. Miski papano, nakakakita pa rin ng konting liwanag outside the office. Lights in the office were like disco lights, on and off. Nakakasira lang ng momentum. Such a distraction!

Mad Week End

It's Saturday today (oo...a raining Saturday..signal #2 sa Manila). I am not supposed to be in the office on this day as we have permanent Sat/Sun off but due to some uncontrollable events, me and half of my team had to come to work today just to get our completion rate at par with our target. Actually, our stats isn't that bad as compared to other teams but we just want to have our target done ASAP. We're not a big fan of procrastination. Tomorrow, two more people will work but I will no longer be here. I need to rest for God's sake.

I was supposed to be in a good mood yesterday since I always look forward to week ends. But I don't think I have never been that pissed in my career life as I was yesterday. Things in the office has just taken its toll on me. Now I am thinking whether I should get a month-month leave on top of the 2 months leave that I amm going to have. Nakakainis lang..sobra!

Sometimes, I just can't help but wonder why some people tend to abuse one's kindness and understanding. Worse is, everytime you show kindess and understanding to these people, they keep asking for more. Shit! For once, I want them to experience how it feels like to be under a different wing; how much freedom and leninecy I am giving them. But NO. I am not like that. I don't want them to experince those monster team leaders I used to have when I was still an agent.... hayYyYY, ganito lang naman ako. I just need to vent out. They are my family. But they need to shapre up, REALLY. Otherwise, it's no longer work defending and KEEPING them in my team

Just For Laughs

It has been a while since the last time I received a text from "Inday". One of my former QAS sent me this and this just made me smile amidst my nakakabiwist day yesterday.
INDAY ON WOWOWEE
Willie: Ok Inday, anong talent ang gagawin mo ngayon?

Inday: I suppose I could sing one of my favorites, Time to Say Goodbye.

Willie: Sige, Ladies and Gentleman… Ms. Inday.

Inday: Quando sono sola Sogno all’orrizonte E mancan le parole… Si lo so che non c’e’ luce In una stanza quando manca il sole Si non ci sei tu con me, con me…

Inday: Time to… say goodbye…

Willie: Wow!! That’s unbelievable! Meron dyang Magic Sing, My Marvel Taheebo at kung anu-ano pa.

Edelryn: Ferfect papi!! Ferfect!!!!

Natawa na lang si Willie.

Willie: O sige pwede na rin… Perfect… Sing it!!

Ederlyn: Baby as I look into your eyes… New York ferfect… Judging from the way you meet my eye… New York Ferfect…. Ferfect…

Ederlyn: Papi Ismak Dat!! (Kinanta pa ng gaga… Ismak Dat OlonggapoIsmak Dat Fernando Poe)

Willie: I’m sorry Inday pero…

Inday: I’m sorry Mr. Revillame but I just got a call from the other station and they’re sending someone over to pick me up. They want to talk about guesting me and letting me sing me on their show this Sunday. I’ll just take the cash and leave the other stuff here for the other contestants. Thanks and Ciao!

Ederlyn: Wow darling pwede mo akong kuning cashier or waitress. (sabay inom sa sopdrink)

Dodong: Anong darling darling?

Inday: Flattery won’t get you anywhere Dodong. Besides, do you already know what you need before you pursue that endeavor of yours? You need to register a business name and submit a BTRCP Form No. 16B to DTI. Or SEC if it’s going to be a corporation or a partnership. Then get a Barangay Clearance, Mayor’s Permit and Sanitary Permit. You also have to register your business to BIR then get a license to operate from BFAD. And that’s just the gist of it.

Dodong: Huwaw!!!

Inday: Well, I could concoct a list of appetizers, entréés and dessert for your “Pares” resto.

Pulubi: Do you have a name for your establishment yet?

Dodong’s Pares kaya?

Manang: How unimaginative. How about… Pares Hilton. Classy yet funny. (sabay dukot sa Chippy)

Dodong: Hahaha. Ok yun ah!!

Ederlyn: Di ko gets? Anong nakakatawa dun?

Inday: Of course you don’t dear. Well Dodong, the name should cater to the mass anyway so better come up with another one.

Maglalako: Eh kung Lovers In Pares kaya?

Dodong, Ethan, Ederlyn, Manang: Pwede!!!
