R_E_S_P_E_C_T

A lot of people has so much to say about this "recent event" but only a few dared to speak. Why? Because they know that nobody is and probably will never be willing to listen. Their effort will be wasted anyway so there is really no reason for them to join the the "inquiry".These people who are expected to listen to their grievances have had their eyes blinded and had their ears deaf. There is no use and sense even if the silent majority would come up. How I wish a signature campaign would work in "our" club.

But reality intervenes.

This is not a perfect world or a blockbuster flick where
"GOOD PREVAILS OVER EVIL" or where the "oppressor will be punished over the time."

I would like to emphasize that I am writing this blog NOT out of bitterness or out of sour graping. The people around me know that I just "tried" because there is this one also "tried".Kapal nga ng mukha eh. I've told myself over and over again that I have no such intention to be the ONE because of several reasons:

1. I am not yet "seasoned"
2. I have to go on leave this December
3. I might leave the country before 2008
(which will defeat the purpose the need of having ONE) and lastly,
3. I feel that the speaker of the house doesn't like me.

Nevertheless, I did it anyway. In fact, I was the last to submit. about 5 hours late. But I would like to reiterate: If this ONE did not try, I wouldn't have tried it as well.

This recent news is really a life changing event. When a portion of the silent majority stood up and came forward to the "upper chambers," they were disappointed. It's no longer surprising for me though. I have already expected the outcome.

On the other hand, I know that THE OTHER ONE is also reading my blog. I just want you to know that something may have been stolen away from you but please remember that you have gained the UTMOST RESPECT of those SILENT MAJORITY. And that's more important than any other laurels that you could have. You have touched people's lives and we will always have our FAITH in you. We love you and we will always look up to you. It will take a lot for the "ONE" to gain our respect because we know her work ethics, we know how the "ONE" deceived the people from the upper chambers. Just like us, you are one-silent-wonder-worker. That is why, the people of "our society" really respect you. Walang halong plastikan 'neng.

I would like to end this serious but vague blog with Abraham's Lincoln infamous nuggets of wisdom:

  • With public sentiment, nothing can fail. Without it, nothing can succeed.
  • You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.
  • Stand with anybody that stands right, stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong.
  • Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.
  • Every man is said to have his peculiar ambition. Whether it be true or not, I can say for one that I have no other so great as that of being truly esteemed of my fellow men, by rendering myself worthy of their esteem.
  • If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?

and lastly,

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
